Top Granite is a family run countertop company based in Lynnwood, which makes a kitchen here a job in our own city. We measure with a laser template, coordinate fabrication with a partner shop and install with our own crew, so one company answers for the project from the first visit to the last seam. Our typical window from template to installation is 5 to 12 business days.
Hiring a countertop company in your own city
Top Granite works out of Lynnwood, so a kitchen here is a short drive instead of a trip across the county. That matters more than it sounds. A countertop is measured in your house, cut somewhere else and carried back in finished, and every one of those moves is scheduled around traffic and your week.
What the short drive buys you is calendar, not a discount. A slab costs what it costs wherever it is headed. Being in town means a tighter arrival window, a sample dropped off on the way back from another job, and a crew that can return the next morning if a filler strip needs attention, rather than fitting you into a route that started an hour south.
We are a family business, we install with our own crew, and we coordinate the cutting with a partner fabrication shop instead of running a factory of our own. Top Granite is a registered Washington State contractor, and the scope goes in writing before anything is cut.
If you want a number before you call, put your measurements into the Budget planner and you will have an estimated range in about two minutes. Then call 206-653-4479 and we will set the visit.
The free measurement visit
Every quote starts the same way. We come and look, and the visit costs nothing. A figure given over the phone is a guess, because the price moves with the measured area, the thickness, the edge, the cutouts and whatever has to come out first.
In a typical kitchen it takes under an hour. We check that the cabinets are level and sound enough to carry stone, where a seam will have to fall, what your sink and faucet do to the cutouts, and how a finished piece will reach the room. It ends with a written scope, not a number said out loud.
The kitchens we see in Lynnwood
Most of the kitchens we are called into here were built between the 1960s and the 1990s, in the ramblers and split levels around Scriber Lake, North Lynnwood and the streets off Alderwood. They usually have laminate on a particleboard deck, sometimes tile on a mortar bed, and cabinets in better shape than the surface sitting on them. That is the ordinary countertop replacement, where the boxes stay and only the surface changes.
Tile on a mortar bed is the one that surprises people. It is heavy, it comes out slowly, and it usually leaves a wall that needs patching, so removal belongs in the written scope. None of it is a problem when it is priced up front. It is a problem when it turns up on install day.
The newer side of town is a different job. The townhomes near the light rail station that opened in 2024, and the condos around Alderwood, tend to have compact kitchens, a shared elevator and a building that sets the work hours. Those kitchens and bathroom vanities are also where a remnant can cover the whole job, since a piece left from a larger slab is often all the square footage you need.
Either way, describe the stairs, the narrow entry or the parking before the quote is written. The carry decides how large a piece we can bring in, and a seam planned around a staircase is cheaper than one discovered on the day.
What finished work looks like
Both photographs below are real Top Granite installations, shot on site. We do not pin a city on a photo unless we know the job was there.

More finished work is in the gallery. If you are still deciding between fixing what you have and starting over, repair or replace is the shorter read.
How the project runs
1. The visit and the written quote
We look at the room, agree what is included and put it in writing, down to the edge profile. A sketch with rough dimensions is enough to start by phone. Any dollar per square foot figure you read online is a reference for the Seattle market, never a quote for your kitchen.
2. Material and slab
You choose the material, and for natural stone the individual slab. Engineered quartz repeats, so a sample is an honest preview. A granite or quartzite sample shows you the family, not your counter, so our supplier photographs stock bundle by bundle and you shortlist from home before seeing the pieces. This step sets the calendar more often than anything else.
3. Template and fabrication
We record the room with laser templating, which captures walls that are not square instead of assuming they are, and the approved layout goes to our partner shop for fabrication.
4. Installation day
Our crew takes out the old surface when that is in scope, sets the new pieces, finishes the seams and the backsplash and leaves the kitchen usable. A seam goes where it is least visible and least in the way, and we show you on the drawing where it lands. A plumber reconnects the sink the next day so the silicone can cure.

Timing, and counting backward from the holidays
Our typical window from template to installation is 5 to 12 business days. Material availability and the size of the job can move it, and the clock really starts when the material is decided, not when you first call.
If you want the kitchen finished before you host in late November or December, count backward from the date: the days spent choosing a slab, the template visit, those 5 to 12 business days, then the plumbing reconnect. October still leaves room for stone that has to be ordered in. December usually does not.
Lynnwood and the cities next door
Lynnwood is our base, so it sits in our normal week rather than at the edge of a service map. Start with countertops in Lynnwood, WA, or the pages for Edmonds, Mukilteo, Mill Creek, Bothell and Shoreline. The full list is on the service area page, and the neighboring cities have their own write ups: Edmonds, Everett and Mukilteo.
Frequently asked questions
Is Top Granite really based in Lynnwood?
Yes. It is a working base rather than a showroom, so slab viewing happens at our supplier's yard and the measuring happens at your house. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 12pm.
Is the measurement visit free in Lynnwood?
Yes, and across our normal service area. Islands and ferry destinations are the exception, where extra travel may apply, so we confirm that by address before booking.
My kitchen is from the 1980s and has tile counters. Is that a problem?
Not a problem, but it is extra work. Tile on a mortar bed is heavy, slow to remove and usually leaves a wall that needs patching. We put the removal and the patching in the written scope so it is priced before install day, not after.
Can I keep my cabinets and my sink?
Cabinets usually stay, as long as they are level and sound enough to carry stone, which we check at the visit. Sinks are the other way around: the cutout is made for one exact sink, so a new undermount chosen before templating is the cleaner result.
How fast can you do it?
Template to installation is typically 5 to 12 business days, plus the time spent choosing a slab before that and the plumbing reconnect after. Deciding the material quickly is what actually shortens a project.
