Countertop installers in Mukilteo, WA: how a job runs: article cover
Real Top Granite project: a large quartz island with a walnut base, brass pendants and a tiled full height backsplash.

Top Granite is a family run countertop company working out of Lynnwood, about a 15 minute drive from Mukilteo. We measure with a laser template, coordinate fabrication with our partner shop and install with our own crew, so one company answers for the job start to finish. Our typical window is 5 to 12 business days from template to installation.

Start with the free measurement visit

Hiring a countertop installer should not begin with a price per square foot over the phone. It should begin with somebody standing in your kitchen, looking at the cabinets, the sink and the backsplash, and hearing what you want to keep.

That matters more than homeowners expect. Plenty of Mukilteo kitchens have sound cabinets and a layout the owner likes. Those jobs are not demolitions, they are a careful countertop replacement around details worth keeping.

Top Granite holds Washington license TOPGRGL780J8 and backs new installations with a 5-year workmanship warranty, explained in writing before you sign. To book the visit, call 206-653-4479, or run your dimensions through the Budget planner first.

Access is the Mukilteo detail people forget

A slab does not bend. It travels from the truck to your kitchen as large rigid pieces that cannot be twisted, and that fact quietly shapes many projects here.

Mukilteo has two housing stories. In Old Town you find older homes on the slope above the water, some with the kitchen a floor up, narrow stairs and a short driveway. In Harbour Pointe there is newer construction with open layouts and long islands, easier to carry into but often meaning a bigger single piece. Condos add a third variable: a shared elevator, reserved move-in hours and a building manager who needs notice.

None of this is a problem when we know in advance, only when the crew finds it on install day. If a piece has to be split to make a turn safely, that is a seam decision we would rather make with you in planning than improvise in your hallway.

What finished Top Granite work looks like

Both are real Top Granite installations, photographed on site rather than staged. Neither was shot in Mukilteo, and we would rather say so than pin a city on a photo that is not from it.

Kitchen island in green veined quartzite with a farmhouse sink, walnut cabinet base and tall windows
Real Top Granite project: a veined quartzite island with an undermount farmhouse sink and a walnut base. Natural stone is chosen from the actual slab, never a sample chip.
Kitchen island in white veined quartz with a waterfall end panel and a matching full height backsplash
Real Top Granite project: engineered quartz with a waterfall end and a full height backsplash in the same material.

A waterfall end shows why access comes up early: a tall panel carried in upright and set without flexing. If that is the look you want and your kitchen is up a flight of stairs, say so at the start. Call 206-653-4479 and we will talk it through.

How the project runs, stage by stage

1. The visit and the written quote

We see the room, agree the scope and put it in writing. A sketch or rough dimensions are enough to start, and photos of the whole kitchen help before we arrive.

2. Laser templating

Once the cabinets are secure and level and the sink and appliances are confirmed, we record the real space with laser templating. The stone is cut from this measurement, so it happens after any cabinet preparation, not before.

3. Slab selection and fabrication

You choose the material and, for natural stone, the individual slab; our supplier photographs the bundles so you compare real pieces. The approved layout goes to our fabrication partner with the edge profile, cutouts and seams already agreed. We do not run our own cutting floor, we coordinate it and answer for the result.

4. Installation day

Our crew removes the old surface when that is in scope, sets the pieces, finishes the seams and backsplash, and walks the room with you before leaving. Your plumber reconnects the sink afterward. See how installation works.

A realistic timeline for a Mukilteo kitchen

Our typical window is 5 to 12 business days from template to installation. Material availability, approved details, fabrication requirements and site readiness all move that number, and we confirm your dates before work proceeds.

Fabrication is rarely what stretches a schedule. The usual causes are a sink decided late, a cabinet needing shimming before the template, or a plumber booked for the wrong day. Settle the sink early and confirm our dates before booking plumbing visits.

What moves the price

We do not publish a price per square foot, because a countertop is not honestly sold that way. Area and thickness matter, but so do the edge profile, the cutouts, the backsplash height, whether removal is included and how hard the room is to reach. Two Mukilteo kitchens of identical square footage can land in different places over nothing but a staircase.

An eased edge is our included profile; others change the scope and the price. Removal can be part of your project or quoted separately. Plumbing is always your plumber's visit. Payment is a 50 percent deposit at signing with the balance at the end of installation, stated in your written quote.

Any regional figure online is a reference point, never a quote for your home. The Budget planner runs your real numbers with no sign up. To talk it through, call 206-653-4479 or send us the details.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Top Granite from Mukilteo?

We work out of Lynnwood, about a 15 minute drive to Mukilteo without traffic. Your neighborhood changes that: an Old Town address off the water is not the same trip as a home up in Harbour Pointe.

Do you work in condos, or homes with stairs and tight access?

Yes, and we would rather know early. A turn in a stairwell, a shared elevator with reserved hours or a long carry from the street changes how we size the pieces. Tell us at the free visit and we plan the route before anything is cut.

Do I need to have the sink before the template visit?

Yes, or at least the exact model and specifications. The cutout is made from the real sink, not a generic shape, so a sink chosen late is the most common reason a schedule slips.

What are the payment terms?

A 50 percent deposit is due at signing and the balance at the end of installation. Your written quote states this, along with the scope it covers, before you commit to anything.

Does ferry traffic on the Mukilteo Speedway affect my appointment?

It can affect arrival timing on a busy afternoon, which is why we give you a window and call when the crew is on the way. If your street backs up near the terminal at predictable hours, tell us and we will schedule around it.
