It can be, if you value its natural character and accept more attentive care. Marble can etch, stain and scratch through normal use. Talk through your habits with our team and compare other materials if keeping an unchanged finish is your priority.
Does sealing marble prevent etching?
No. Sealing can reduce absorption and improve stain resistance, but etching is a reaction between acids and the stone. Use coasters and wipe up spills promptly. Follow the care plan for your marble and finish.
Should I choose honed or polished marble?
Polished marble has a reflective finish. Honed marble has a more matte appearance and can make some etching less obvious. Both require care; compare samples and confirm the finish available for your chosen slab.
