Real Top Granite project: white veined quartz on existing maple cabinets, with a full height backsplash.

Top Granite is a family run countertop company based at 2221 147th St SW in Lynnwood, roughly a ten minute drive from Edmonds. We take the measurements with a laser template, coordinate fabrication with our partner shop and install with our own crew, so one team stays with your project from the first visit to the final walkthrough. Our typical window is 5 to 12 business days from template to installation.

What you are hiring when you search for a countertop installer

Searching for countertop installers in Edmonds turns up three different kinds of company. Some sell slabs and hand you off to a fabricator. Some fabricate and subcontract the install to whoever is free that week. A few, like us, stay responsible for the whole chain: the measurement, the slab, the cut and the crew that carries the stone through your door.

We are straightforward about one part of that chain. Top Granite does not run its own fabrication floor. We coordinate cutting with a partner shop, and we are the ones who review the layout, approve the pieces and answer for the result. Our own team handles installation and any removal included in your quote. Top Granite holds Washington license TOPGRGL780J8 and backs new installations with a 5-year workmanship warranty, explained to you in writing before you sign anything.

For a home in Edmonds, that matters. Many kitchens in Westgate and Seaview were built in the 1960s and 1970s, with solid cabinets and a layout the owner genuinely likes. Those projects are rarely a demolition. They are a careful countertop replacement around details worth keeping, which means somebody has to look at the cabinets before anybody cuts stone.

A real before and after, same wall, same cabinets

These two photos are from one real Top Granite kitchen, shot from the same side of the room. The first is the day we came to measure. The oak cabinets stayed; the dated laminate did not.

Kitchen before the countertop replacement, with original oak cabinets and dated laminate at the cooktop
Before: original oak cabinets, old laminate surface, measuring tape up on the day of the visit.
The same kitchen wall after installation, with white veined quartz countertop and a full height quartz backsplash
After, same wall on install day: white veined quartz with a full height backsplash in the same material. The cabinets were never touched.

The second photo was taken while the crew was still on site, before the plates went back on. We prefer showing it that way. The useful question for a homeowner is whether the stone meets the cabinets cleanly, not whether a stylist put flowers on it.

If that is roughly your kitchen, the next step is simple. Book a free in-home measurement visit at 206-653-4479, or put your dimensions into the Budget planner first and see an estimated range in about two minutes.

How the project runs, step by step

1. The free visit

We come to the house, look at the room and talk through what you want to change and what you want to keep. Have photos of the whole kitchen ready. Approximate dimensions or a sketch are enough to start.

2. Laser templating

Once the cabinets are secured and level and the sink and appliance models are confirmed, we record the actual space with laser templating. This is the measurement the stone is cut from, so it happens after any cabinet preparation, not before.

3. Slab selection and fabrication

You pick the material and, for natural stone, the actual slab. Our supplier in Seattle photographs the bundles, so you can compare real pieces instead of a two inch sample. Then the approved layout goes to our fabrication partner, with the edge profile, cutouts and seam placement already agreed.

4. Installation day

Our crew removes the old surface if that is in your scope, sets the new pieces and finishes the seams and the backsplash. Your plumber reconnects afterward, and we walk the room with you before we leave.

A realistic timeline for an Edmonds kitchen

Our typical window is 5 to 12 business days from template to installation. Material availability, approved details, fabrication requirements and site readiness all move that number, and we confirm the dates for your project before the work proceeds so you can book other trades around them.

What usually stretches a schedule is not fabrication. It is a sink chosen late, a cabinet that needs shimming, or a plumber booked for the wrong day. Decide the sink early and share its specifications, and confirm our dates before you lock in plumbing visits. Payment terms are a 50 percent deposit at signing with the balance at the end of installation, stated in your written quote.

What the quote includes, and what it does not

An eased edge is our included profile; other profiles change the scope and the price. Removal and haul away of the old countertop can be part of your project or quoted separately, depending on the existing material and access to the room. Plumbing disconnection and reconnection are always your plumber's visits, not ours.

We do not publish a price per square foot, because a countertop is not honestly sold that way. Area, thickness, edge, cutouts, backsplash height, removal and access to the kitchen all move the total, and regional figures you find online are a reference point at best, never a quote for your home. The Budget planner runs your real numbers and gives you a range on screen with no sign up; a formal quote follows the template and a review of the scope. If you would rather talk it through, call 206-653-4479 or send us the details.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for an estimate visit in Edmonds?

In-home estimates are free. Send your rough dimensions or a few photos first and we reply within 24 hours, usually sooner, to schedule the visit at a time that works for your household.

How far is Top Granite from Edmonds?

Our Lynnwood address is 2221 147th St SW, roughly a ten minute drive from Edmonds without traffic. Your neighborhood and exact address change that, and Westgate or Seaview will not be the same trip as a home near the waterfront.

Can you install new countertops without replacing my cabinets?

Often yes, if the existing cabinets are secure, level and able to carry the new surface. We assess the cabinets, the existing backsplash, the sink and the layout before confirming a replacement scope, and any preparation needs to be finished before the template visit.

Will my kitchen need a seam?

It depends on slab size, your layout, access to the room and safe handling of the pieces. We review seam placement and pattern direction with you during planning rather than leaving it to install day. A well placed seam is discreet, and we will not tell you it disappears.

Do I need a plumber for the installation?

Yes. Your plumber disconnects the sink before removal and reconnects it after installation and any required waiting period. Those visits are separate from our countertop work, so confirm our dates first and book the plumber around them.
