Technician filling a small chip on the edge of a white quartz countertop
GRANITE COUNTERTOP REPAIR · GREATER SEATTLE

Granite countertop repair.
Natural stone forgives more.

Granite is stone all the way through, with no resin to burn, and that gives a repair more room to work than engineered quartz does. Chips fill well, dull areas can often be brought back, and a stain is not always permanent. Send photos and we will tell you which one you have.

Which countertop problems can you assess?

We assess chips, cracks, worn edges that may need repolishing and loose seams in stone countertops, including quartz, granite, marble and quartzite. Send photos so we can determine whether the material and damage are suitable for repair.

How do I send photos and get an estimate?

Choose Repair in the Budget planner, describe the damage, and upload photos. Our team reviews the request and contacts you about the options and information needed for an estimate.

Will the repaired area be invisible?

Not necessarily. Color, pattern, finish and the location of the damage affect how closely a repair can blend. We discuss the expected result before you approve the work, rather than promising that every repair will disappear.

What affects the cost of a small repair?

The material, damage, access, and work required affect the quote. Send photos and your project location so our team can explain the scope and applicable charges before scheduling.

Countertop repair by city

Repair work is scheduled differently depending on how far you are from our Lynnwood fabrication floor. These pages explain what to expect where most of our repair requests come from.

Why granite repairs more easily than quartz

Granite is natural stone, not stone bound in resin. There is nothing in it that scorches, so a surface can be worked mechanically and brought back to a polish. That single difference is why more granite problems are fixable.

What we can usually fix

Chips. Filled with a tinted epoxy mixed to your slab, then levelled. Granite patterns are busy, which helps the repair hide.

Dull or etched areas. Often restored by re-polishing the section.

Cracks. Granite has natural fissures that look alarming and are not structural. Part of the visit is telling you which you have, because a fissure needs nothing done to it.

Stains. Granite is porous. Oil and wine go in rather than sitting on top, which is why a stain sometimes draws back out with a poultice instead of needing a repair at all.

Loose undermount sinks. Re-supported and re-set.

Sealing, which quartz does not need and granite does

Granite benefits from periodic sealing, and most of the stained granite we are sent has simply gone too long without it. If your repair visit ends with us sealing the top, that is often the most useful thing we did that day.

Countertop repair by material

Quartz, granite and quartzite are damaged in different ways and repaired with different methods. These pages explain what a repair can and cannot achieve on each.
